Congratulations to Catherine Higgins and Aideen McCabe – the first of our Cohort 3 students to pass their viva’s!

A huge well done to Catherine Higgins who passed her viva on 1st July and the Aideen McCabe who passed her viva on 5th Sept.

Catherine did her PhD project at UCD under the supervision of Prof Michelle Carey on “Dynamic gene regulatory network construction from high-throughput time course data with application to chronic obstructive lung disease”. Catherine has now taken up a postdoctoral position at UCD.

Aideen did her research project at UCC under the supervision of Prof Kellie Dean on “A multi-omics approach to assess expression of long, non-coding transcripts and their regulation by p53 in ovarian cancer”. Aideen is really interested in the patient and public involvement in research and is considering pursuing a career is  that area.
