Aideen McCabe, a cohort 3 student based in UCC, completed a 10km swim to raise awareness and funding for 2 charities!
Aideen, who was inspired by the patients she interacts with as part of her PhD research project, swam 10 km to raise money for OvaCare and lookgoodfeelbetter on Monday 6th May. Ovacare is a a ovarian cancer support charity dedicated to supporting and giving a voice to those affected by ovarian cancer in Ireland and lookgoodfeelbetter provide practical support for women dealing with the side effects of cancer treatment helping them to feel confident and beautiful.
Aideen raised >€2000 for the charities so absolutely outstanding result for Aideen! Fantastic to see a CRT student connect so strongly with the patients on her PPI panel who help drive the direction of Aideen’s research to ensure its relevance and impact for patients!
