Congratulations to 4 more of our newly minted PhD’s!

Massive congratulations to Louise, Sai, Elle and Anjan who all passed their PhD viva’s recently!

Anjan Venkatesh’s research project focused on “Understanding and targeting the differential assembly of protein complexes in cancer” Anjan did his PhD at UCD under the supervision of Colm Ryan. Anjan is now planning on heading off to the US to do a Post-doc at the University of California San Francisco in the lab where he carried out his placement.

 

 

 

Naga Sai Ravi Chandra Nori’s research Project focused on “Microbe Mom – Understanding microbial transmission patterns from mother to infant using genomic and metagenomic data. Sai did his PhD at Teagasc and UCC under the supervision of Paul Cotter. Sai is now starting a 3 year post-doc at Teagasc working on a gut microbiome project.

 

 

Elle Loughran’s research project was on “Polyploidy and cancer: an evolutionary insight to understand cancer genomes”. Elle was based in TCD and was supervised by Aoife McLysaght. Elle is planning on staying on at TCD as a researcher and eventually hopes to get her own grants and purse a career in academia.

 

 

 

 

 

Louise Ryan’s research Project was on “A Comparative Genomics Approach to Understanding Sensory Adaptation in Mammalian Evolution”. Louise was based in UCD and supervised by Graham Hughes. Louise is currently taking some time to think about the next step in her career
