A massive congratulations to Muhammad Zainul Arifin on passing his viva — a brilliant landmark reached!
Zain is a cohort 3 CRT student who carried out his PhD at UCD under the supervision of Vadim Zhernovkov and Walter Kolch and his work focused on multi-modal dissection of PD-1 signaling in T cells to improve cancer immunotherapy.
Zain was the youngest student to join our PhD programme and the move from Indonesia to quarantine in Ireland during Covid 19 times was not an easy start but Zain’s resilience, tenacity and organisational skills have shone through and he turned a challenging start into an inspiring success story. Here’s to his hard work, strength, determination and a bright future ahead!
