Rasha is a 1st year PhD student in Lina Zaga’s group in TCD working on “Sunshine Genomics: Gene-Environment Interaction Approach to Study Genomic Factors Associated with Skin Cancer and Vitamin D Status”. She has an undergraduate degree in Biology and Philosophy and is now seeing  how impactful reading and studying philosophy have been in shaping her career so far, and how much they will continue to influence her in her future work.

To read about how an education in both Biology and Philosophy is helping Rasha  think more deeply about ethics, logic and other big questions in her PhD project and in science in general see her Nature Career article How philosophy is making me a better scientist (nature.com)
