CRT Student Aideen McCabe and her supervisor Kellie Dean based in UCC received an Irish Cancer Society award for Patient Public Involvement recently.
The award will significantly impact their research on ovarian cancer by enabling then to incorporate PPI into the project and help shape the direction of their research in productive and exciting ways.
The award provides funding of €4,761 to support the involvement of patients in Aideens PhD research project – PPI contributors give freely of their time and experience to improve the research direction and relevance and its important to ensure financial barriers don’t prevent participation by being able to cover their costs such as transport and accommodation.
