Well done to Karen Guerrero Vazquez who passed her PhD viva today!
This achievement is a testament to Karen’s hard work, dedication, and the notable journey she has undertaken moving from Mexico to Ireland to pursue her PhD and overcoming every challenge along the way. Karen did her PhD at the University of Galway where her project focused on developing computational approaches for therapeutic target discovery to ameliorate muscle wasting during ageing and disease. Congrats also to Karen’s supervisor Katarzyna Goljanek-Whysall and co-supervisor Pilib Ó Broin.
The CRT team are very proud of Karen and everything she has accomplished and wish her all the best as she embarks on what promises to be a bright and inspiring career. Karen was an integral part of cohort 3 at the University of Galway and will be greatly missed as she moves onto new ventures but we’re sure the very best is yet to come!”
