Huge congratulations to six of our outstanding PhD students who were conferred at the University of Galway on 11th June 2026 🎓
It was fantastic to welcome them back from near and far to celebrate such a significant milestone together (albeit to a wet and windy Galway…). A cohort-based PhD is a unique journey that not only fosters academic excellence but also builds lasting friendships and a strong support network along the way so it was also great to see some of our current students and our recent graduates come along to celebrate together.
Well done to Dr Sophie Matthews, Dr Anna Großbach, Dr Harrison Anthony, Dr Bianka Pasat, Dr Karen Guerrero Vázquez and Dr Jacopo Umberto Verga, PhD – wishing you all every success and fulfilment in your future careers! Sophie is now doing a post doc in the University of California San Diego, Harrison and Anna are doing postdocs in the Netherlands, while BianKa, Karen and Jacopo have stayed on at the University of Galway to do postdocs.
