BSc in Biochemistry from NUI Galway, my final year project was working with Horse centromere protein sequences. MSc in Biomedical Genomics in NUI Galway, my thesis subject was in Xenopus laevis developmental biology. The PhD project I chose deals with the genomics of the native Irish honeybee, its structure and unique adaptations to the environmental challenges it faces.
