I graduated from University College Dublin with a BSc first-class honours degree in Genetics and was awarded the 2020 genetics medal. My final year project focused on the characterisation of a transcription factor gene family involved in regulating flower development in Cannabis sativa. My research interests include genome mining and gene annotation, comparative genomics and phylogenetics. I am excited by the wealth of genomics data that has been made available in recent years and the way in which we can harness this data to gain biological insights.
