I graduated in 2019 with a B.A (Hons) in Genetics from Trinity College Dublin. My research interests lie in the field of human disease genetics and bioinformatics. I began my PhD in 2019 funded by the Genomics Data Science CRT. After the training period in NUIG I transferred back to Trinity to begin my research with Dr. Russell McLaughlin. My project deals with the analysis of whole genome sequence data, looking for evidence that repeat expansions cause a large proportion of cases of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) an incurable neurodegenerative disorder.
