I graduated from University College Cork in 2018 with a first class honours BSc in Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Science. I was then awarded a Quercus Academic Scholarship from UCC to complete an MSc in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. My master’s project looked at the connection between the oral and gut microbiomes of individuals with colorectal cancer. It involved the assembly and annotation of bacterial genomes so we could gain a better insight into their potential role in the disease. Currently my research interests include machine learning, statistics and the integration of multi-omics data in the context of human microbiome research.
