The Irish Cancer Society recently did a profile on Dr Eva Szegezdi, a CRT supervisor at NUI Galway. Eva’s research focuses on understanding the development and progression of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), the tumour microenvironment and particularly on understanding how AML develops resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs. Eva is also Director of Blood Cancer Network Ireland which facilitates collaborative blood cancer research by creating a blood biobank resource for the research community and bringing clinical trials to Irish blood cancer patients. Eva is currently supervising CRT student Sarah Ennis at NUI Galway
