Dr Helen Horkan and Dr Rebecca Mahony were recently conferred at the autumn conferring’s at University of Galway
Helen did her PhD research Project with Uri Frank on “The molecular basis of genome stability in a non-aging animal”. Helen is now heading off to the United States to take up a position as a postdoctoral fellow at Matt Gibson at Stowers Medical Research Institute, USA.
Rebecca did her PhD project with Derek Morris on “Investigating the effect of polygenic risk for schizophrenia on gene expression and cell subtype proportions” and has started as a postdoctoral fellow in the UK Dementia Research Institute at Cardiff University.
