Our cohort 2 students spent last week in Kylemore Abbey as part of their Ideas week. Students had to develop an innovative idea for a genomics related company and many fascinating ideas were proposed including the use of polygenic risk scoring in injury prevention and expanding areas available for wine growing using genomics. The students also heard fascinating talks from Dan Crowley of RemedyBio and Alva O’Cleirigh of SFI.
Of course, it was not all work, with the students taking time out to explore the beautiful scenery of Connemara including hiking and a tour of some local areas of interest.
