Congratulations to Roofiya Koya who recently passed her Viva!

A big congratulations to Roofiya Koya on passing her PhD viva! 🎉

It’s a tremendous milestone and the culmination of much hard work, intellectual curiosity and perseverance. Successfully navigating  a PhD and viva is no small achievement, and doing so is a testament to Roofiya’s  dedication, resilience, and scientific clarity.

Roofiya’s PhD research demonstrating how tumour mutations can be used to uncover the molecular mechanisms of long noncoding RNAs made a valuable contribution to the field. This work has advanced our understanding of cancer biology and reflects both technical excellence and thoughtful scientific insight. Congratulations also to Roofiya’s supervisor at UCD Rory Johnson.

We’re delighted to see Roofiya take the next step in her career and wish her every success as she begins her postdoctoral position at UCD. We have no doubt she will continue to do outstanding work and make a meaningful impact in her future research endeavours.

Congratulations once again on this well‑deserved achievement, and best wishes for an exciting and successful career ahead!
