In 2022, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a first-class BSc in Biochemistry with Industrial/Professional Experience. As part of a 12-month placement at Abcam, I worked both in the wet-lab and as part of the data science team, cleansing and handling big data and employing natural language processing approaches. My final year project involved the training of a classifier for the prediction of phenotypic traits of interest in bacteria based on binary gene presence/absence patterns.
Presently, I work in the areas of evolutionary biology and comparative genomics, where the core aim of my project is to understand the evolutionary history of the iconic shamrock.
